Recap of Events & Screenings  |  Member Highlights  |  Letter from the Board

VME members, we hope you had a wonderful holiday! As we welcome in the roaring 20s, we'd like to take this time to reflect on the strides and accomplishments of our organization:

Veterans in Media & Entertainment is moving into its 8th year and has seen growth and transformation in many areas including expanding the job and internship program, launching the new VMEConnect platform, building our membership, deepening industry relationships, attracting industry supporters sponsors, and growing the internal leadership ranks. Below we have it by the numbers:

  • 577 new members (by word of mouth!)

  • 62 job placements at Netflix, Paramount, NBC, NBC Universal/ Focus Features, Lionsgate, Sony, A&E, Academy Gold, HBO, Disney, LA Rams, Warner Brothers, Showtime, UTA, Live Nation

  • 8 paid internships with HBO, Paramount, A&E, CBS, Sony, House of Blues, Endemol Shine, and Warner Brothers

  • 22 Veterans selected for the AT&T Veteran Media Fellowship Program

  • 30 actors cast in Seal Team, This Is Us, Hawaii Five-O, and more

  • 4 Guest Speakers Events

  • 45 Educational Classes, Workshops, and Roundtables

  • 78 Advanced & Premiere Screenings

VME had a banner year in growing its ranks by almost 600 members all by word of mouth or direct recommendations. Veterans and civilians alike have taken notice of what VME has to offer to the media and entertainment industry and we have capitalized on these growing relationships.

VME has received landmark support from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, American Legion Pacific Palisades Post 283, and 21st Century Fox. We know that our mission could not be possible without the help of strong corporate relationships, generous contributions from allies, and hard-working volunteers!

Now let’s take a look at some of the many wonderful achievements for the VME in 2019.
